So as some of you may know, and most of you may not, I had another blog a few years ago called Love Desiree. I focused a lot on beauty, natural hair, and lifestyle. I slowly stopped doing anything on that blog including my youtube channel (which if you look at you’ll see it’s been a while since my last video). And now I have a new blog (spoiler: you’re on it) and with a new blog comes new blog goals.
But why you ask?? Why go through all of the work I did on that blog just to ultimately stop, and then get rid of it all together? LIFE. Life happened to me and it happened hard. I won’t go into every little detail right now but the biggest thing that happened to me was becoming a mom! Two of the sweetest little girls were born in 2016 and 2017 and I am blessed to be their mommy.
I also moved a lot, I think I moved to two different states and just found life to be too unstable to be able to focus on anything extra at the time. Honestly, I wish I had just stuck to it. I wish I had documented all of those moments. But a part of me wanted to keep up this persona online. This happy, life is great, I’m great persona. So when my life didn’t match that, I didn’t want to lie or pretend. So I just stopped.
I am finally at a point where things are not perfect but I am getting to a place of being happy regardless of things out of my control. I’ve done a lot of growing up in the past 5 years and I am still growing. And when I decided I was ready to start blogging again, my old blog just didn’t work for what I wanted to do anymore. So, I decided to start over.

With that said. I am here, I am happy and I am not perfect. It’s important to me to share and connect with other moms out there. My girls have been the biggest blessing for me and they are growing so fast, and all I want to do is document it. And that is how Creating Grace was born.
So now that I am back to blogging I am ready to make some goals for the year. Nothing too crazy since I am starting over, but enough to have something to strive for. Here are my blog goals for 2020:
Stay Consistent
I want to post regularly. Life just happens so fast and I feel like if I blink I’ll miss it. There’s something about having children that makes that so glaringly obvious. I want to live life and I want to share it. That’s it. I want to do it consistently because more than anything I want to be able to look back on old posts and see them as memories.
Blog for ME
Yes, of course I want this blog to be something that helps other moms out there. I want to build a following of women who can relate to me and enjoy seeing what I am up to. But not to the extent that I no longer enjoy it. I want to blog for me, and I hope others will want to follow along!
Document the Important Things
I get so mad at myself when I think about the milestone and precious moments I didn’t blog about these past few years. And don’t be surprised if I post random things from when the girls were younger, because why not!? They were/are so stinking adorable I could talk about them all day. So I want to put it all somewhere and make sure I am capturing sweet moments when I can.
Grow And Learn
I want a lot out of this blog of mine. And I feel like the blogging world has changed A LOT since I was an active participant. I have a lot to learn and this blog has a lot of growing to do. I think they both go hand in hand. So I want to go all in. It’s actually taken me a long time to launch this blog when I think about the moment I decided I wanted to do it. But that’s because I want to do it right from the start. And hopefully it is something that I keep up with for years to come.
Remember that Mistakes are OK
With that said, however, I know I will do things wrong. I know I will make mistakes and have a lot of learning moments. And that’s something about blogging that I really miss. I love being able to grow from other bloggers, connect and build a community and grow myself.
I am really excited to be starting this journey. I’m a little nervous, but it’s the good kind. I look forward to meeting others who do the same thing and hopefully connecting with lots of women who are in a similar places as me in life. I just want this to be a positive place and something that I love and enjoy doing. So here’s to the New Year, new adventures and reaching my blog goals in 2020! For any bloggers reading this, I would love to here what your blog goals are for 2020- please share them in the comments!

It is good to take a break once in a while. I do the same when it comes to my blog, so that I don’t get burnt out.
