I am a bookworm, this you may know from my fun facts post. I am so lucky to be a part of an amazing bookclub that is hosted here locally in Colorado Springs. And every year I set a reading goal on top of that. Last year, I fell short of my goal due to a lot of things going on but I was able to read some pretty great books. So today I am sharing my favorite books that I read in 2019!
Before I share which books were my favorite I want to share all of the books I read in 2019. Thank goodness for Goodreads– this is where I track all of my reading throughout the year:

So many interesting books, 2019 was a great reading year for me. Some of these I would not pick up again, and some were just so great! Here is my list of favorites (in no particular order):
- Drums of Autumn by Diana Gabaldon
- Where the Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens
- Becoming by Michelle Obama
- Beholding and Becoming by Ruth Chou Simons
- The Art of Racing in the Rain
- Dark Places by Gillian Flynn
- A Storm of Swords by George R.R. Martin
- Clash of Kings by George R.R. Martin
These are my top 8 favorite books that I read in 2019. I am a huge Outlander fan and really loved Drums of Autumn. Also, I decided to take on the Game of Thrones series and have been loving those. (Hopefully I will get the next book read this year). I loved The Art of Racing in the Rain. It was such an amazing book. I also had the pleasure of meeting Garth Stein last year to top it off!
Beholding and Becoming is a funny story, I actually only wanted this book because of how gorgeous the cover is. (I’m a sucker for a beautiful book) But it was by far one of the best books I’ve purchased. It’s one of those Christian books that you have to read multiple times so you can get everything out of it, which I definitely plan on doing. I read it super slow and just took it chapter by chapter, it already has so many passages highlighted throughout. Wow, it was so good.
I also loved Where the Crawdads Sing. It was on my to read list for a while and thankfully a friend let me borrow their copy. It was so good I couldn’t put it down. And now I plan to buy my own copy!
Some of these books were read because of my book club, and some because of social media or audible recommendations. I am so glad I came across them and that I have a group of ladies to share these experiences with. I would love to hear if you have read any of these, or have them on your list for this year!
